you should really write a story to go with these. your own version of a fairy tale.

Great colors! May I give a little critique?

I didn't practice when I was younger, so now I'm trying to catch up... but it's a lot harder trying when you're older...

Thanks! I did; it's just not finished and in many pieces; very long! There are more characters too :)

Since it's a character sketch, I'm going to critique the figure itself and its proportions. (The details on the costume are great, btw.) Her face is fantastic, and, along with her womanly attributes, she looks to me like a young woman (please let me know if I'm wrong). However, her proportions are a little off.

A perfect figure is about 8 heads ([link]). While her torso is believable, her legs look way too short. Her left arm juts toward her skirt awkwardly as well. The way it is angled, if it rests on her hip like that, her elbow should move away from her body, and only her hand should be on her hip. Or if you want to tuck her elbow by her hip, the elbow would not be visible because of the angle of her body. It's easier to see in front of the mirror - tilt your body so that 3 quarters face one side, then try to put your arm over that hip.

Her right foot (the one we see on our left) shouldn't jut outwards as well. Because she's turned 3/4 to the right and because of the contrapposto, that leg should be closer to the foreground. Unless you put both her legs closer together, like [link] that is, and if that's the case, both feet would be way closer to the left of the page to accommodate her stance. With her feet separated the way it is, she would need that foot relaxed and closer to us since her other leg has all the weight.

Lol, I hope I didn't confuse you! It's hard just to verbalize instead of sketching it out myself, but I hope this still helped.

I can't wait to see how your sketch finalizes!
